I am a nurse with over 25 years of experience, and have been a reflexology and massage therapist since 2004. I believe that this approach provides me with a unique perspective on health and well being enabling me to help you relax and unwind ultimately keeping your mind as healthy as your body. Caroline Twigg Holistic therapy is the answer to the 21st century’s busy lifestyle needs. The angelic realm guides me, and this is the start of a new journey and direction in life for me; practising Swedish massage and reflexology therapy.
Reflexology is a therapy with origins dating back thousands of years. It involves the therapist applying pressure to different areas of the feet. These ‘zones’ have connections to different areas of the body, allowing your therapist to help you manage various complaints. Reflexology can help increase your energy, boost your circulation, and induce a deep state of relaxation. If you’d like to find out more about the benefits, I find this article particularly helpful.
Swedish massage is the most common type of Western massage therapy and uses a combination of five principle massage strokes; effleurage, kneading, friction, stretching, and tapping. After the treatment you will probably feel quite relaxed and potentially sleepy. Allow yourself time to unwind and make sure you hydrate well with water or herbal tea. Massage can also leave you needing to go to the toilet more than usual, but this is just the massage increasing your lymph circulation and flushing out toxins.
I hold a guided meditation and mindfulness group every Tuesday in Crediton from 5.30 pm — 6.15pm. This group is particularly suited to people who are new to the practice of meditation. I create a perfect environment to feel relaxed and calm and ultimately safe. If practised regularly meditation can reduce stress, improve concentration, increase happiness, slow the ageing process, promote deeper sleep and boost immunity.
I am currently practising in a clinic space in Crediton every Tuesday from 09:30 to 6.15pm.
